Salisbury, MARYLAND - Piedmont Airlines Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group (AAG), has donated one million airline travel miles to the National Council for the Traditional Arts to support the National Folk Festival in Salisbury, Maryland. This first-of-its-kind festival for Salisbury will be held September 7 through 9 and is the oldest and longest-running multicultural celebration of traditional arts in the country.
SALISBURY, Maryland - Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, Inc., will open a new maintenance operation at Albany International Airport (ALB) to service its growing fleet of Embraer 145 aircraft. Piedmont expects to begin hiring for the base in August bringing more than 50 jobs to the area. The new facility will provide maintenance support for Piedmont’s northern routes, including international routes out of Philadelphia.

Salisbury, MARYLAND - Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, is retiring its de Havilland Canada “Dash 8” fleet after 33 years of flying. On July 4, 2018, Flight 4927 will depart from Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 6:33 p.m. and touch down at sunset at Salisbury Wicomico Ocean City Regional Airport in Salisbury, Maryland, completing the Dash’s final revenue flight.
Piedmont captain Matt Sheehan is a big fan of paying it forward. As a child, he was obsessed with airplanes, begging his grandmother to take him to Logan Airport in Boston to watch the airplanes take off and land. As an adult, he gives children in need the gift of flight he longed for as a child.
Today marks Piedmont's 56th anniversary of revenue service. Mr. Richard A. Henson planted the seeds of Piedmont Airlines with the founding of the Hagerstown Commuter in 1962. But, that was not the only significant event of the year.
SALISBURY, MARYLAND - Piedmont Airlines will open a new crew domicile in Charlotte, North Carolina, American Airlines’ largest East Coast hub. Pilots and flight attendants will join the more than 1,500 Piedmont ground handling, line maintenance and leadership team members already based at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). The new domicile will open July 1.
