SALISBURY, Maryland - Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group Inc., is pleased to announce a new partnership with Infinity Flight Group in Trenton, New Jersey, to provide a well-defined career path for pilots to American Airlines.
Starting immediately, Piedmont Airlines will offer conditional employment and tuition reimbursement to select Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) at Infinity. Once a CFI reaches the required ATP minimums, he or she will join Piedmont as a first officer, and eventually transition to American Airlines.
“Talented pilots on the East Coast now have an opportunity to get ahead of their peers and set a career path very early,” said Scott McGuigan, chief pilot for Piedmont Airlines. “Pilots who fly for Piedmont upgrade very quickly and then seamlessly transition to American to enjoy all the benefits of flying for the world’s largest airline. Piedmont gets the opportunity to choose and develop the best talent in the country, and selected CFIs get valuable experience and career stability.”
To be eligible, CFIs must have completed 500 hours of flight time and an interview with Piedmont. Selected pilots will receive a bonus for every 100 hours of flight time until they reach the required ATP minimums, and receive a $5,000 bonus when they transition to Piedmont.
“This agreement gives Infinity CFIs the ability to develop a relationship with a top ranked regional airline and be paid a bonus from the time they start instructing,” said Gregory John, president, Infinity Flight Group. “Our CFIs get a competitive advantage by being able to move directly to Piedmont and then directly to American Airlines.”
