SALISBURY, Maryland - Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group Inc., is announcing $15,000 in bonuses for new hire pilots in addition to the opportunity to fly for American Airlines.
Piedmont president Lyle Hogg tells a compelling story about the day he was hired as a pilot for US Airways. Hogg flew for a regional airline in 1984, but was looking to land at a mainline company. Returning home late one afternoon, he learned that US Airways was trying to reach him.
New Piedmont president Lyle Hogg came from American Airlines with two big goals: get Piedmont's regional jet program safely in place and double the size of Piedmont’s fleet as quickly as feasible. Now three weeks into the job, Lyle is rolling up his sleeves to get the work done. “We have a great opportunity for growth here,” said Lyle. “Our position as a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines gives us great financial stability and a very bright future. It’s a nice position to be in.”
SALISBURY, Maryland – Piedmont Airlines today announced that Lyle Hogg, previously vice president – flight operations for US Airways, will serve as president of the airline.
