Piedmont Airlines and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) have reached a tentative agreement for Fleet and Passenger Service team members. Piedmont is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines.
Representatives from Piedmont and the CWA negotiated a five year agreement that raises wages and improves benefits for 6,000 gate and ramp agents in more than 80 cities across the United States.
Piedmont CEO Lyle Hogg thanked both negotiating teams for their efforts, noting that the agreement will provide new opportunities for agents while positioning Piedmont to be very competitive in the ground handling field.
“Piedmont was committed to a contract that would take care of our team while solidifying our value to parent company American Airlines,” said Hogg. “Congratulations to both sides for reaching an agreement that is good for our team and good for our company.”
CWA will share details of the agreement with union members soon, along with procedures for voting.
