Our Growing Fleet

Piedmont began Embraer-145 regional jets revenue service for American Airlines in February of 2016.

“Obviously, safety is first and foremost,” said President Lyle Hogg, “Our goal at Piedmont is to establish a safe culture of compliance to our standard operating procedures.”

The arrival of the EMB-145s marked the sixth Piedmont transition to new aircraft since 1962. The change prior to this came in 1985 when Henson Aviation moved from the four-engine turboprop Dash 7 to the Dash 8.

“Although we are welcoming new fleet, we must remember that safety really means being compliant with our stated procedures,” Hogg included. “I appreciate all of our employees’ endless dedication to remaining compliant and keeping our passengers, employees and aircraft safe.”

Piedmont retired the Dash 8-300 on for July 4, 2018. The final flight was passenger service from Charlotte to Piedmont headquarters in Salisbury, Maryland.

Piedmont currently has 48 E145 regional jets in the fleet, with two additional jets arriving each month.
