5 things to expect at your pilot interview
Piedmont does pilot interviews differently. From small group settings to application reimbursement, we value your time and appreciate your questions. Here’s what you can expect when you visit with our team:
Travel
We want you to arrive well rested and ready to start the interview at your best. We’ll arrange travel to the American Airlines Flight Training Center in Charlotte, North Carolina (one of our crew bases) along with hotel accommodations if you need them.
A look at your career path
All Piedmont pilot positions come with a guaranteed spot at American Airlines. During your interview, we’ll show you how the flow to American works, what to expect during the transition, and how you can best prepare for American while training at Piedmont. Do you want to talk with a pilot who already transitioned to American Airlines? We can arrange that, too.
Individual counsel
Is your priority pay, location, or health care for your family? We will answer your specific questions about bonuses, benefits, commuting, career advancement and more in your small group information session. We recognize that your priorities will change throughout the process, so we’ll provide several ways to get the answers you need during training and beyond.
A job offer for Piedmont and American Airlines
While we no longer require a written skills assessment during our interviews, we’ll give you honest feedback about your strengths and weaknesses as a pilot – and how you can improve. If we offer you a job, you are automatically given a spot in our flow to American Airlines. If we aren’t a good fit, we’ll tell you that, too.
Application fees
Regardless of the outcome of the interview, we will reimburse you for the application fees required through AirlineApps.com
Why Piedmont? You’ll join a group of pilots who no longer has to worry about the next interview. Your job at American Airlines is secure the day you arrive for training at Piedmont.
