SALISBURY, Maryland – Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, is excited to announce its upcoming nationwide Aviation Career Exploration Tour. This tour aims to inspire and guide individuals interested in pursuing a career in aviation by offering unique opportunities to interact with industry professionals, explore aviation schools, and learn about scholarship and career advancement opportunities.

The tour begins on National Aviation Day, August 19, and will wind from New Jersey to Florida with celebrations in 12 locations including Trenton, Pittsburgh, Charlotte and Orlando.

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive sessions with aviation professionals, including pilots and maintenance experts
  • Tours of aviation institutes and academies
  • Information on scholarship programs and financial assistance for aspiring aviators
  • Prize giveaways, including AAdvantage Miles and valuable aviation gear
  • Special appearances by chief pilots and industry icons

“We are celebrating aviation and introducing a new generation to aviation careers,” said Jacqueline Jennings, vice president of People and Communications at Piedmont. “Piedmont is growing and hiring in just about every department from pilots and maintenance technicians to payroll and recruiting. Anyone who ever considered a career in aviation is welcome to come out and visit with us.”

Piedmont operates a growing fleet of Embraer 145 regional aircraft and runs ground operations at more than 80 airport locations across the United States. Incentives for joining Piedmont range from full tuition payment for aircraft maintenance technicians to $100,000 for experienced pilots willing to fly for Piedmont for two years.

“Piedmont offers stability and growth in an industry that has seen some turbulence,” added Edward Leverton, vice president of Flight Operations. “Many of our pilots have come from other airlines because they know Piedmont will be beneficial professionally and financially. We just make it easy.”

Everyone is welcome to visit the bus over the two-week journey. Piedmont will also land an Embraer 145 in three locations (see below) and open the aircraft up for tours. Students interested in flying or maintenance are encouraged to attend.
