Piedmont Airlines seeks individuals interested in an Aircraft Maintenance career for unique tuition-free school opportunity

SALISBURY, Maryland– Piedmont Airlines announced today that their Maintenance Recruiting team is visiting Piedmont maintenance base locations along the East Coast to share a unique “tuition free” opportunity for aspiring aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs) through their Tuition Payment Program (TPP). As the demand for skilled AMTs rises as a more senior workforce retires, Piedmont is committed to growing the next generation of AMTs through their exclusive Tuition Payment Program.

Piedmont works directly with five Maintenance partner schools and pays 100% of the TPP student’s school tuition to help them acquire their Airframe and Powerplant Certifications to become a certified aircraft maintenance technician. Upon completion of the required certifications, background, and drug testing, TPP graduates are guaranteed employment as an AMT with Piedmont.

To spread awareness about this unique opportunity in the communities near our maintenance bases in Salisbury, Maryland, Richmond, Virginia, Roanoke, Virginia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Albany, New York, Piedmont will be hosting educational open houses and tours to educate and attract aspiring AMTs.

“A career as an AMT may appeal to those who have a tinker gene or are kinesthetic learners,” shares Teri Klaverweiden, Maintenance Recruiting Manager. “If you have a fascination with learning the mechanics behind an operation, the use of different tools and solving problems, an aircraft maintenance career may be the right fit for you.”

The open house events are open to current team members and the public who are interested in learning more Piedmont Airlines and the aircraft maintenance career paths available. Attendees will experience a behind the scenes tour of Piedmont’s maintenance hangar from a current AMT to learn what a typical day is like and have the opportunity to engage with the maintenance leadership team and recruiters who will be on site. No previous aviation experience is required to apply.

There is ample opportunity for growth and development in the department and AMTs receive experience working on all aspects of Piedmont’s aircraft from nose-to-tail, free uniforms, best in class health insurance and travel benefits on American Airlines global network (their parent company).

“If you’ve ever thought about becoming an aircraft maintenance technician and want to obtain your Airframe and Powerplant certifications for little to no cost, now is the time,” shares Teri. “Piedmont’s AMT Tuition Payment Program is designed to secure a sustainable workforce within our local communities and help the most promising students make a smooth transition to a full-time stable career as an AMT. Once students obtain their Airframe and Powerplant certifications and pass the required tests, they have a guaranteed job at Piedmont.”

Your new career is on the horizon, and we look forward to having you join the Piedmont team as an aviation maintenance technician. Learn more about our Aircraft Maintenance Technician Tuition Payment Program and view the full Roadshow schedule here.
