Piedmont Airlines Attends Bridge to Leadership Atlanta HBCU Mentor Breakfast

Piedmont Airlines recently participated as a sponsor at the Bridge to Leadership Atlanta HBCU Mentor Breakfast, an event aimed at empowering young multicultural leaders. This initiative, organized by Bridge to Leadership, focuses on three pillars: Education, Empowerment, and Exposure. The organization is dedicated to helping young people transition into adulthood through mentorship connections between professionals and students.

The event included Piedmont team members from multiple areas, including Dachanta Bateman (MGM), General Manager; Matthew French (CLT), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager; Nyeisha Dease (CLT), Manager of Marketing and Communications; Lexus Wilson (CLT), Senior Communications Specialist; Andrea Troublefield (MDT), Flight Pay Specialist; and Whitney Turner (SBY), President of the Black Professionals Network Employee Resource Group and Inflight Training Coordinator. Together, they engaged with over 400 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the region, providing valuable insights about aviation and Piedmont. HBCUs, established primarily to educate Black Americans, have a rich history of producing influential leaders across various fields. These institutions play a crucial role in fostering academic excellence and promoting diversity in the workforce.

Piedmont Airlines’ support for events like the HBCU Mentor Breakfast aligns with its mission to “Build a Piedmont to Thrive Forever.” By investing in the development of future leaders and fostering a culture of mentorship, Piedmont not only enhances its commitment to diversity and inclusion but also strengthens community ties. Events like these are vital in nurturing talent and ensuring a robust pipeline of skilled professionals who will drive positive change in the community and the workforce.

As Piedmont continues to champion diversity and empowerment, we remain committed to creating opportunities for young leaders to thrive and make a meaningful impact. If you’d like to help drive change, visit our careers page.
