Piedmont Ground Handling

Nomination: I am submitting this nomination on behalf of Edward Hollins, for his outstanding contributions to developing and maintaining the Safety program in the GSE shop. Over the past three years, Edward has volunteered countless hours conducting safety inspections and providing detailed reports on unsafe conditions. He has also played an integral role in numerous safety projects, including painting safety rails and hanging safety signs. Most recently, Edward traveled to attend a safety course and earned his OSHA 30 certification, further demonstrating his commitment to enhancing safety in the workplace.

Edward’s efforts and attention to detail have significantly reduced the number of on-the-job injuries (OJIs) in the shop. He consistently attends department safety meetings to stay informed about company policies and to share his knowledge with other shops. By ensuring that the information he gathers is communicated to the team, Edward proactively identifies safety hazards during his shifts and uses this time to educate his fellow mechanics on safety protocols, contributing to a safer workplace environment.
