Celebrating Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a day to come together, reflect on the past and look to the future as we celebrate the freedom of formerly enslaved individuals.

The occasion is filled with overwhelming pride, reflection and remembrance. It is a time to reflect on this nation’s history of slavery and the impact of systematic racism that still exists today. Juneteenth is also a moment for us to celebrate significant change in our nation’s history and the continued struggle for justice and equity.

As a company, it is important for us to cultivate a caring culture that respects each team member and their values while creating an inclusive work environment for all. We must respect each other’s differences, speak up when we see injustice and stand in solidarity with each other.

We champion our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) through Employee Resource Groups, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace. Piedmont currently has six active ERGs, Black Professionals Network (BPN), Christian, Latin Diversity Network (LDN), Pride, Professional Women in Aviation (PWIA), and the Veterans/Military (VMERG). These groups provide awareness and opportunity for action to all team members, active or retired, who are willing to make a difference at Piedmont. To learn more, you can visit the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion page on piedmont-airlines.com and read the success stories of our African American team members below.
