Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines, has set an industry record for zero flight cancellations, operating 72 days in a row without canceling a flight. The streak, which began in September, comes as Piedmont grows its fleet of aircraft and expands its network in the United States.

“It is so important to give our customers a great travel experience, especially through the holiday season, and our team is working really hard to do that,” said Eric Morgan, Piedmont President and CEO. “This milestone is the result of very strategic planning and coordination with our flight, maintenance and ground crew teams, and some luck with weather. We are very proud of the service we deliver to our American Airlines passengers.”

This achievement surpasses Endeavor Airlines’ record of 70 cancel-free days in 2021, solidifying Piedmonts’ position as a leading regional carrier.

“This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team,” said Stephanie Gabis, Senior Director of Operational Strategy. “Collaboration and communication were key to making this happen.”
