Piedmont’s Veterans & Military Employee Resource Group Hosts Successful “Left, Right, Left 5K”

Piedmont’s Veterans and Military Employee Resource Group (ERG) hosted its first-ever Left, Right, Left 5K on Saturday, September 21, at Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) to raise funds for the Gary Sinise Foundation, a nonprofit that supports veterans, first responders, and their families. The event was a resounding success, raising $22,422.63, with more donations still anticipated. A total of 133 runners participated in the 5K, alongside 29 Piedmont employee volunteers from various stations who helped make the event possible.

The funds raised will support essential programs for veterans, reinforcing Piedmont’s commitment to giving back to those who have served. Our Veterans and Military ERG, which boasts over 230 members, plays a key role in this commitment. ERGs are employee-led groups that foster community and support for individuals with shared experiences or backgrounds.

In addition to the 5K, our Veterans and Military ERG has engaged in several meaningful initiatives, including collecting Halloween candy for troops, participating in Wreaths Across America, volunteering to care for the Battleship New Jersey, and gathering items for Toys for Tots. These activities not only support our military community but also strengthen camaraderie among our team members.
